Kensington Gardens

Writer: AylaAyla

London has some amazing parks, and the Italian Gardens, situated just between Hyde Park and the north end of Long Water in Kensington Gardens are no exception.

The Italian Gardens were actually a gift from Prince Albert to Queen Victoria in 1860 🤴👸

It consists of four main basins with central rosettes all elaborately carved in marble with white marble fountain, all surrounded with intricately carved stone statues and urns.

I love coming for a stroll here when the weather is sunny and warm. Such a peaceful place to sit back and relax, with fountains, lily ponds and flower beds. It’s surrounded by mature trees so the hustle and bustle of London is left behind.

Theres the lovely @italiangardenscafekensington which serves fresh food at reasonable prices (try the  poached egg with smashed avocado on sourdough 😋), and there are other points of interest nearby including an adorable statue of two bears and, not far down the western path along Long Water, the statue of Peter Pan ✨

Enjoy walking around and feeding the ducks, or grab an ice cream during the summer months from a Rolls Royce ice-cream van, the world’s first battery powered ice cream van!! 🍦 🦆

Definitely a must-see water garden to visit!!
